Like a small Way of St. James

From the vine-growing hills of Piedmont, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora del Deserto in Liguria: a devotional itinerary that feels like a small Way of St. James and touches the soul of those who follow in the footsteps of the Virgin Mary.

Ninety kilometres to cover in six days through the woods of Langhe, paths and cartroads, passing by sanctuaries, ancient castles and villages built entirely of stone. As from the departure in the town of Castagnole delle Lanze, the beauties and the treasures encountered along the way accompany the pilgrim’s journey stage by stage until the Sanctuary of the Desert of Millesimo.

Once you have reached your destination, you can choose whether to continue on to the sea. Always provided with the Pilgrim’s Credential, in a couple of days you will cover the last forty-five kilometres to the final destination: the beach of Finale Ligure.

The last stamp that concludes our wonderful journey will be placed at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Pia in Finalpia, one of the ancient hamlets of Finale Ligure.

So all that remains is to say: Ultreia et Suseia!

Enjoy your walk
